A look in Janna's purse will reveal three notebooks, each equipped with a pen, and a Palm Z22 that serves to schedule her days and allows plenty of note-taking.
At home, Janna works on a Dell GX 150, outfitted with Windows XP and Office Small Business Edition. She uses Firefox to surf the web and Thunderbird for her e-mail client. Janna has experience working with Macs and hopes to purchase a MacBook sometime in the near future. This addition to her technological arsenal will enable her to cross the "platform barrier" and serve more clients.
Hard copy is, of course, as important as electronic versions of documents, and Janna has tackled this requirement with a Hewlett-Packard PSC 1210 (colour ink jet printer/scanner/copier). This machine enables her to scan images and make photocopies, as well as print full-colour paper versions of any of her projects. A printer upgrade will likely include a fax function, as that is the lone method of communication that Janna's home office lacks.
